Ayr\u0131ca da d\u00fcnyan\u0131n en b\u00fcy\u00fck vah\u015fi ya\u015fam g\u00f6sterilerinden biri olarak kabul edilen “Fil G\u00f6\u00e7\u00fc” de burada ger\u00e7ekle\u015fiyor. Haziran ile Eyl\u00fcl aylar\u0131 aras\u0131nda, Minneriya G\u00f6l\u00fc \u00e7evresindeki a\u00e7\u0131k alanlarda toplanan y\u00fczlerce hatta binlerce Sri Lanka fillerini burada g\u00f6rebilmek olas\u0131. Bu g\u00f6\u00e7, park\u0131n en \u00fcnl\u00fc ve \u00e7arp\u0131c\u0131 \u00f6zelliklerinden birisi. Park\u0131n i\u00e7inde fillerin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra ayr\u0131ca Buffalo, Sambar Geyi\u011fi, yaban domuzu gibi bir\u00e7ok vah\u015fi ya\u015fam t\u00fcr\u00fc var. G\u00f6l\u00fc \u00e7evresindeki sulak alanlar, su ku\u015flar\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00f6nemli bir ya\u015fam alan\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n

Vah\u015fi do\u011fada bu dev memelileri izlemek \u00e7ok keyifli. Bu park\u0131 g\u00f6rmek i\u00e7in d\u00fcnyan\u0131n d\u00f6rt bir yan\u0131ndan gelen turistler o g\u00fcne kadar sadece foto\u011fraflar\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6rd\u00fckleri fillerin ciplerini yan\u0131na yana\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 hayret \u015fa\u015fk\u0131nl\u0131k ve sevin\u00e7 i\u00e7inde izliyor. Ben de bu park turunda Alman bir aile ile tan\u0131\u015ft\u0131m. \u00c7ok sevimli, sempatik Tim ve Kading ailesi Minneriya turundan o kadar mutlu olmu\u015flard\u0131 ki, \u201cBiz Afrika\u2019da safariye kat\u0131ld\u0131k ama buras\u0131n\u0131n zevki \u00e7ok ba\u015fka\u201d diye duygular\u0131n\u0131 a\u00e7\u0131klad\u0131. <\/p>\n\n\n

And so I did. I rode one of the 4×4 jeeps and visited Minneriya National Park, visited the herds of elephants and took almost passport photos of the elephants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The national park is in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka, between the cities of Polonnaruwa and Habarana. It is a day trip away from Kandy city. This place is home to large Asian elephants. Additionally, the “Elephant Migration”, which is considered one of the largest wildlife shows in the world, also takes place here. Between June and September, it is possible to see hundreds or even thousands of Sri Lankan elephants gathering in the open areas around Lake Minneriya. This migration is one of the most famous and striking features of the park. Apart from elephants, there are also many wildlife species in the park such as Buffalo, Sambar Deer and wild boar. The wetlands around the lake are an important habitat for water birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The area around the national park was designated as a national park on August 12, 1997 and declared a wildlife conservation area. The park takes its name from Minneriya Lake. This lake, one of the largest wetlands in the country, forms the center of the park. It is very enjoyable to watch these giant mammals in the wild.\u00a0 Tourists who come from all over the world to see this park watch with amazement and joy as the elephants, of which they have only seen photographs until that day, approach their jeeps. I also met a German family on this park tour. The very cute and sympathetic Tim and Kading <\/strong>family were so happy with the Minneriya tour that they expressed their feelings by saying, “We participated in a safari in Africa, but the pleasure here is very different.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Village Tour<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then I wondered about the lives of people living in rural areas in Sri Lanka. I joined a tour to experience traditional village life, spend time with the villagers, and participate in the many village activities that make up daily life. To go to the villages, we first set out by ox cart on roads covered with pebbles. After a 20-minute journey, the road ended. We got off the ox cart and walked along the path. There was a village house in front of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Inside, two young Jordanian girls and an English woman, who were curious about rural life like me, were learning how to cook local dishes. When the Sri Lankan villager woman who was explaining the food to them said that she would soon give us a feast of taste, we looked at each other with Badea Madi <\/strong>and Dina Toukan<\/strong>, who were on holiday from Jordan. Is he right? I wonder… However, after the meal was finished, we thought how right he was and applauded our cook. In fact, the local dishes offered were so delicious that I reluctantly got up when the guide said, “Now for the boat tour.” We set out on foot. As I was finding my way through the dense trees, I came across Lake Wahhamba. Here I took a boat tour of the lake. When the senior citizen driving the boat saw that I did not have a hat on, he made me a hat from the leaves of the water lily flower. And it prevented the sun from shining on my head while visiting the lake.\u00a0 The lake view was worth seeing. Around the lake, where tropical trees meet the water, the sounds of interesting birds formed an orchestra.
