Sri Lanka’nın tropikal bir ülke. Toprakları baharat bahçesini andırıyor. Aynı zamanda bitkisel ilaçların da ecza deposu gibi. Bu nedenle ülkede çeşitli rahatsızlıkların tedavisinde kullanılan baharatlara her yerde rastlanıyor.

Geleneksel Ayurveda tıbbında kullanılan şifalı bitkileri ve otları satan bahçelere ülkenin her yanında rastlanıyor. Bu bitkilileri ve ağaçları arazilerine eken kişiler bunları hem ülkelerine gelen turistlere hem de ülke dışındaki ilaç şirketlerine pazarlıyor.
Zehra Güneş karşımda
Kuzey Kandy’de böyle bir bahçeyi gezdim. Adı Sırılak Spıce Herbal Garden (baharat ve bitki bahçesi) sahibi Gihan Dilushika adlı iş insanı. Onunla tanıştım. Bana bahçesini daha sonra da ürünlerini sattığı mağazayı gezdirdi. Bana işini anlatırken “Nerelisiniz? Diye sordu.
Türk olduğumu ve İstanbul’da yaşadığımı söyledim. Çok sevindi. Çalışanlarından hemen 2 kahve getirmelerini istedi.
Yanıma oturdu. “Seni buraya tanrı gönderdi. Sana bir sırrımı açıklamak istiyorum” dedi. Şaşırdım. “2 dakika önce tanıştığın kişiye neden sırrını paylaşıyorsun?” dedim.
“Ben bir Türk kızına aşığım. Hem de deli gibi. Türkiye’ye damat olarak gelmeyi hayal ediyorum. Platonik olarak sevdiğim kız evli mi? bekar mı? bilmiyorum ama sen onu bilirsin” deyince kahkaha attım. “Ben her Türk kızının medeni halini bilmiyorum” diye yanıtladım.
“Bu her Türk kızı değil. Bu çok önemli bir kız, tüm Türkiye hatta birçok ülkede tanınıyor. Fotoğrafını gösterince hemen tanırsın” dedi. Cep telefonunu çıkartarak tuşlara bastı. Ekranda bizim filenin Sultanlarından Zehra Güneş karşımdaydı. Şimdi şaşırma sırası bendeydi. Ne alakası var? diye sordum. Voleybolu çok severmiş ve iyi bir izleyici olarak televizyonda çok maç izlermiş. Bizim Milli takımın maçlarına denk gelmiş. Zehra Güneş’i ekranda görünce aşık olmuş. Bunları anlattı sonra cep telefonundaki diğer Zehra Güneş fotoğraflarını gösterdi. Evli mi? Diye sordu. Başkalarının özel hayatları beni hiç ilgilendirmez” diyerek konuyu kapattım. Ama bu platonik aşk hikayesi güzel bir Sri Lanka anısı oldu. Ben de yazmadan edemedim…

Zehra Güneş is in front of me
I visited such a garden in North Kandy. His name is Gihan Dilushika, a businessman who owns Sırılak Spice Herbal Garden. I met him. He showed me around his garden and then the store where he sells his products. While telling me about his job, he asked: “Where are you from?” Asked.
I said that I was Turkish and lived in Istanbul. He was delighted. He immediately asked his employees to bring 2 coffees.
He sat next to me. “God sent you here. “I want to tell you a secret,” he said. I am shocked. “Why are you sharing your secret with the person you met 2 minutes ago?” I said.
“I am in love with a Turkish girl. Like crazy. I dream of coming to Turkey as a groom. Is the girl I love platonically married? single? I laughed when I said “I don’t know, but you know that.” “I don’t know the marital status of every Turkish girl,” I replied.
“This is not every Turkish girl. This is a very important girl, she is known all over Türkiye and even in many countries. “When you show him his photo, you will recognize him immediately,” he said.
